Academic civic commitment through public engagement in The Third Mission

This Handbook is the result of the cooperation of different contributions. However, the main objective is one: implementing deliberative practices in the process of decision-making, when Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) are called to involve local communities in their engagement with the Third Mission. In fact, nowadays HEIs are not only called to satisfy research and training needs, but also to face societal challenges and provide democratic communities with responsible and engaged citizens. The Handbook is divided into two main parts, whose content will be briefly analysed in this document.
